This photo below from the Northwest Indiana Times shows the smirking bastards who passed the law which now legalizes torture, abolishes habeas corpus and protects the torturer-in-chief and his minions from prosecution for war crimes. It is beyond sickening that Bush has a little propaganda sign, “Protecting America”, hanging on his desk.
September 28th, the day Congress passed the Military Commissions Act, and today, October 17th, the day Bush signed away your rights, are two dates which should live in infamy, as should this photo.
It would indeed qualify as a miracle if the Supreme Court were to toss this law out, because a majority of the Court will "defer" to Congress and the Executive in carrying out war and foreign policy. They almost never "defer" to their main job which is protecting your rights against encroachment by the government.

A bad law, indeed. Also, it’s important to note that the Democrats will NOT do anything to overturn this law. Once they get back in to power, they’ll say to themselves, “Not so fast! This law might work for US and our agenda of increasing government power over the individual. We may NEEd this thing!”

Constitution, Article I, Section 9; Clause 3 is:
No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.

Bills of attainder were used through the 18th century in England, and were applied to English colonies as well. One of the motivations for the American revolution was anger at the injustice of attainder.
