You’ve got to be kidding. But not only does a running back in the NFL tell us on TV to have a happy veterans day, but so does a bigtime blogger, Instapundit. Remember that 11/11 was Armistice Day, the day WWI was suspended and peace declared. It was indeed a happy day and was to be commemorated because the killing stopped.

After WWII, the US changed the name to Veterans Day. We already had Memorial Day to honor the troops but we apparently needed another day to do it. So we got rid of the celebration of peace and changed it to a celebration of perpetual war. What the hell is happy about that?
